Request for Proposals LCN'09 & LCN'10

Dear Subscribing ULC Presidents,

As most of you know, our signature event of the year is the Annual LCN Convention. On March 28th to March 30th, 2008 the Lebanese Student Organization from the University of Maryland, College Park graciously hosted the LCN convention. Students from all over the United States flew to Washington D.C. and participated in the event. The schedule included sessions on how to conduct an effective meeting, University Lebanese Club (ULC) building workshops, elections for new officers and an awards ceremony. More details can be found at www.lebanesecollegiatenetwork.org/LCN08.

This letter is to inform you about the Lebanese Collegiate Network’s (LCN) Request for Proposals to Host the LCN Convention for both 2009 and 2010. All subscribing University Lebanese Clubs qualify to apply. Attached you will find two applications, one for each year.

Please note that the LCN Board will lean towards hosting the 2009 LCN Convention at a ULC located in the Southern California area for the following reasons:

  1. The LCN’08 Convention was held on the East Coast at the University of Maryland, College Park near Washington, D.C. It would be in the best interest of LCN membership that the next convention be hosted on the West Coast if possible.
  2. The current Vice President-elect of Events resides in the Southern California area and thereby can secure arrangements in a more efficient manner.

Applications for both ’09 and ’10 Conventions (see below) will be due on October 15th 2008. You may mail your applications to the P.O. Box address listed in the footer or electronically to Serge Haddad, Vice President of Events, at shaddad@lebanesecollegiatenetwork.org. All applications submitted will be reviewed by the LCN Board, but preference for the 2009 LCN Convention will be given to a Southern California University Lebanese Club for the reasons listed above.

Your support is critical in making this convention a success. Together anything is possible! Please submit your application forms for both ’09 and ’10 Conventions by October 1st to secure your chance to host the LCN Convention. A decision will be made by the November Board meeting. Should you have any questions please contact Serge Haddad, 2009 LCN Vice President of Events or anyone of the LCN Executive Board. We encourage all ULC Presidents to apply for both events.

Best Regards,

Patrick Sislian
