About The GMU Lebanese Student Association

GMU ULC President
This semester, our Lebanese Student Association (LSA) held kiosks weekly, in order to raise money for the Lebanese Red Cross. After establishing a contact with the Red Cross, the LSA at GMU decided to fundraise by selling bracelets, necklaces, and similar items marked with the Lebanese flag. We are determined to undergo this fundraising project until the end of next semester in order to reach our goal of at least $1,000.
To start this semester off, the LSA held a meet and greet at the local Lebanese restaurant Tarboush, to allow for our members and new members to socialize, eat excellent food, and enjoy a great time!
We also held a Middle Eastern style night mid-semester, to engage all students in the Middle Eastern culture.
On November 22, 2011, we held a movie night, playing the infamous film, West Beirut, in memorandum of the Lebanese Independence day.
Our LSA is also partnering with other local Lebanese Student Associations in attempt to expand our LSA activities, as well as merge events with these LSAs to make the Lebanese community more active.
We would also like to take this opportunity to give a warm welcome to our new members and new officers for this upcoming semester!
