OU ULC President
Party on November 19, 2011 in the banquet rooms of the Oakland Center on Oakland University’s campus. The purpose of this event is to educate all students on the culture of Lebanon and on how Lebanon gained its independence. This event displayed a wonderful Lebanese cuisine, live music by the famous Nasser Deeb and his band, a belly dancer, and the notorious LACOM Dabke Troupe.
Also featured were speeches by the Lebanese Club Advisor, David Archbold, and Oakland University’s Lebanese Club President, Anthony Gemayel. There were approximately 250 attendees, and after conversing with many of these guests, Lebanese Club of Oakland University learned of only positive feedback on its 5th annual event. Some of the guests present were Wayne State University’s LSA, University of Michigan’s LSA, and Graeme Harper, the Director of the University’s Honors College.
This is OULC’s first event on campus, since hosting the 2011 LCN Convention in April 2011, and OULC plans to remain as active by hosting yet another event in the near winter semester, as well as multiple upcoming fundraising events.
