LCN’10 Saturday Workshops
One of the main purposes of the LCN is to develop students academically and professional and help foster University Lebanese Clubs (ULCs). The convention serves as one of the main venues where the LCN can fulfill its mission.
In order to better serve you, LCN partnered with two professional organization, Write Track Admissions & LebNet. The saturday workshops target both personal development as well as ULC development through 4 different workshops.
Write Track Admissions
Write Track Admissions guides students to take the right steps necessary to have strong applications and to build and strengthen skills to enhance admission chances. The workshop focused on the indispensable tools needed for students to reach their goals and maximize their potential.
LebNet Microsoft Project
The Website Workshop reviewed the general ideas of domain names, web hosting and different types of websites. The workshop also entailed going through a live website building demonstration using Google Sites. The aim of the workshop is to enable a selective group of students to be able to build and effortlessly update their ULC websites. The information and techniques provided are simple and easy so that they maybe passed on year on year.
Fundraising for your ULC
The Running an Effective Meeting Workshop reviews a set of parliamentary procedures as depicted by Robert’s Rules of Order. The workshop is carried out in the form of a scripted Mock Meeting conducted by a group of individuals. A moderator pauses the meeting intermittently and asks the audience questions about how certain orders of business should have been carried out.
Parliamentary Procedures
This workshop, led by Serge Haddad, Lara Saikali, and Kristel Bou-Lahoud, gave the students the resources necessary to run their club meetings. The team and select student volunteers acted out several scenarios that might occur during a ULC meeting. Kristel and Lara were on opposing sides of a debate.
