One of the main purposes of the LCN is to develop students academically and professional and help foster University Lebanese Clubs (ULCs). The convention serves as one of the main venues where the LCN can fulfill its mission.

The saturday workshops target both personal development as well as ULC development through 3 different workshops.

ULC Group Activity Workshop

In the Group Activity Workshop, students are separated into 9 different groups. The groups are then handed a question/topic/issue that they need to work on collectively to answer. Furthermore, each group is given markers and large sheets of paper to prepare a 3 minute presentation. Questions are oriented towards issues facing University Lebanese Clubs and the workshop is intended to strengthen these clubs through the sharing of ideas and experiences among different clubs.

Running an Effective Meeting \ Mock Meeting

The Running an Effective Meeting Workshop reviews a set of parliamentary procedures as depicted by Robert’s Rules of Order. The workshop is carried out in the form of a scripted Mock Meeting conducted by a group of individuals. A moderator pauses the meeting intermittently and asks the audience questions about how certain orders of business should have been carried out.
