Purpose: The LCN Board attempted to be humorous during the "How to conduct an effective meeting" workshop.  On stage, the board sat together and acted out a typical unorganized meeting.  Throughout the meeting, the "actors" paused to ask the members various questions about the meetings process.  Robert's Rules of Order was cited on several occasions.  Students were able to clear up some misconceptions about making motions and roles of a presiding officer.  Proper distribution and formats of meeting minutes and agendas was explained.  After the mock board meeting, the Executive Board conducted an actual meeting in the presence of all the members.  The Election Committee was appointed and a Resolution was passed unanimously that honored the LSO at UMD College Park for their assistance in hosting the LCN Convention.

Ceremonial Signing of the Constitution

Signees: Diana Ayoub, Julien Chemali, Serge Haddad, Karim Khoury, Ramzi Nasr, Patrick Sislian & Sevag Sislian

Note: Following the presentation of the Constitution & ByLaws, the Executive Board that adopted the constitution signed the Constitution. This was the first time all seven board members were at the same place together since the inception of the Lebanese Collegiate Network in September of 2007.
Purpose: The LCN Constitution and Bylaws are the governing documents of the Lebanese Collegiate Network.  These documents empower the student membership to excel academically and professionally.  Patrick Sislian, President and Serge Haddad, Treasurer, presented to fifty student attendants on the major articles of the constitution, such as the amendment process, election process, and roles of the Executive Board.  The importance of the LCN Constitution and Bylaws were modeled after the U.S. Constitution.  This theme was reinforced by several quotes spoken by leaders like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
